As educators, we know more about engineering then we think.

Have a question or comment?

  1. What are the essential questions relating to this topic?  How does that relate to goals and measurements?

  2. How can we teach this creatively?

The essential question is: How can I see the design process more in my everyday educating?

Everyone designs.

The teacher arranging desks for a discussion.

The entrepreneur planning a business.

The team building a rocket.

Their results differ.

So do their goals.

So do the scales of their projects and the media they use.

Even their actions appear quite different.

What’s similar is that they are designing.

What’s similar are the processes they follow.

An engineering skills come from three major categories, Analytical knowledge, Skillful thinking and the the design process.  We as educators know about processes and understand skillful thinking.
